În acest an, The Beit Project poposește pentru prima oară în București, ca parte a turului său prin Europa. În perioada 6-27 Mai, 182 de elevi de la șase școli vor avea ocazia să descopere o parte din poveștile ascunse ale orașul în care locuiesc și să experimenteze frumusețea diversității culturale.

Cele șase școli selectate pentru această primă ediție sunt: Școala Gimnazială „Geo Bogza”, Școala Gimnazială „Tudor Arghezi”, Colegiul Național „Elena Cuza”, Liceul Teoretic “George Călinescu”, Școala Gimnazială “George Bacovia”, Școala Gimnazială Genesis.

Multumită sprijinului acordat de Federația Comunităților Evreiești din România și Facultatea de Istorie din cadrul Universității București, visul nostru va deveni realitate. Elevi cu vârsta cuprinsă între 11 și 15 ani vor avea oportunitatea de a-și lărgi perspectiva și punctul de vedre cu privire la ce înseamnă “celălalt” și vor deveni membrii comunității internaționale The Beit Project.

Proiectul va avea loc în inima orașului. Atât gazda noastră, Facultatea de Istorie, cât și locurile pe pe care elevii le vor explora au fost martorele unor evenimente care ne influentează prezentul, relațiile și modul actual de viață.

Pregătirile sunt pe ultima sută de metrii. Beit-urile, căsuțele pe care elevii le vor construi singuri și în care vor „locui”/lucra pe parcursul a două zile, au ajuns din Sofia, de la colegii și vecinii noștri, în București, iar trainingul facilitatorilor a fost o experiență minunată, datorită lui Virgine, David și Spyros.

This year The Beit Project arrives in Bucharest for the first time, in its tour around Europe. Between the 6^th and 27^th of May, 182 pupils from six schools are expected to discover stories hidden in the city they live in and to experience the beauty of cultural diversity.

The six schools that have been selected for this first edition of the project in Bucharest are: “Geo Bogza” Secondary School, “Tudor Arghezi” Secondary School, “Elena Cuza” High School, “George Cinescu” High School”, “George Bacovia” Secondary School and Genesis Secondary School.

With the great support of our local partners the Jewish Federation in Romania and the Faculty of History from the University of Bucharest, our dream will soon become reality, and pupils between 11 and 15 years old will have the opportunity to enlarge their perspectiveand points of view regarding “the other”, and become members of the international community of The Beit Project.

The project will take place in the very heart of the city. Our host is the Faculty of History, and the sites that are going to be explored were witnesses to many important events that have shaped our present relations and way of living.

The Beits have arrived from Sofia, from our colleagues and neighbours, to Bucharest, and the facilitators’ training was an amazing experience thanks to Virgine, David and Spyros.
