In this newsletter, we introduce two members of The Beit Project team.
Samia Brahimi joins the core team after coordinating the project in Marseille. She continues her commitment to The Beit Project by now contributing to the organization’s fundraising efforts.
For her part, Thanae Bouchiba supported The Beit Project through her civic service and later by coordinating the project in Morocco. She is now leaving the organization to resume her studies in the coming academic year. Perhaps our paths will cross again in the future.
Samia Brahimi
Samia Brahimi is a cultural and educational project coordinator, specializing in mediation, partnership development, and communications. A graduate of Sciences Po Grenoble and ESCP Europe, she has built her experience within committed cultural and audiovisual organizations, supporting projects at the intersection of creation, knowledge-sharing, and audience engagement.
Based in Marseille, she is particularly interested in initiatives that foster intercultural dialogue, culture-based education, and youth engagement.
At The Beit Project, she coordinates the rollout of the Nomadic School program in Marseille, develops institutional and educational partnerships, and leads fundraising efforts through the identification of public and private funding opportunities as well as the drafting of grant applications. Convinced of the role of culture as a driver of empowerment and connection, she works to create meaningful collective projects.
If I were a place…
I would probably be a room of one’s own, in the sense described by Virginia Woolf. Not necessarily a closed room, but an intimate and personal space, both a refuge and a laboratory for ideas. A place where one can observe the world, reflect, and create. I like the idea that a space can be both physical and mental: somewhere you feel free enough to question, imagine, and build. This “room of one’s own” represents, for me, curiosity and the possibility of bringing stories, projects, and encounters to life. More than a specific city or territory, it is a space of thought and creation that stays with me wherever I go.
Thanae Bouchiba
Originally from Tangier, Thanae Bouchiba grew up in a city open to the world, where different cultures intersect. This diversity has shaped her curiosity and continues to inspire her today. Drawn to the arts, culture, and communication, she is particularly interested in stories in all their forms—books, films, creative projects, or the everyday narratives people share. Curious and creative, she enjoys learning through observation, connecting with people from diverse backgrounds, and spending time drawing, reading, and cooking, which she sees as both a creative and comforting space. She likes to think this reflects her Mediterranean side.
Thanae first joined The Beit Project through a civic service program before taking on the coordination of the Nomadic School of Living Together project in Morocco in 2026. She contributed to organizing activities, monitoring the project, coordinating between partners, and supporting participants. These experiences reflect her commitment to educational, cultural, and nonprofit initiatives. After this meaningful journey with The Beit Project, Thanae will resume her studies in the coming academic year.
If I were a place…
I would choose Tangier, my hometown. I believe that growing up somewhere shapes you in many ways, and Tangier has had a strong influence on how I see the world. It is a city where cultures meet and where the Mediterranean spirit is deeply present.
I enjoy traveling and discovering new places, but I always return to Tangier. It is a place deeply connected to my memories. Almost every neighborhood and street brings back a moment from my childhood or a stage in my life. There is something very comforting in that familiarity. It is a city that continues to inspire me and that I am naturally drawn back to—like returning to a place that feels like part of who you are.
