De vuelta a París – 13a edición

For the third time, the Transfo Emmaüs Solidarité project took place in the heart of Paris’ 10th arrondissement during the school vacations. This pilot project, in partnership with Judaisme en Mouvement, brought together young and old from a variety of backgrounds: JEM (Association Judaïsme en mouvement), OSE (Oeuvre de Secours aux Enfants), AIRES 10 (social center in the Buisson Saint Louis district, Paris 10th), Transfo – Emmaus Solidarité (cultural space and emergency shelter). The project opened up a space for dialogue between young and not-so-young residents of the neighborhood and elsewhere. Experiencing otherness, sharing one’s point of view, discovering the history of the tenth arrondissement and its links are experimented by the participants.

Following this project with a private audience, in November we began a project with schoolchildren (Institut médico-éducatif). Pupils from 4 classes in Paris, a class in Créteil and an IME (Institut médico-éducatif) will also be meeting up, exploring the Buisson Saint Louis district to film micro-trottoirs. The Beit Project will enable participants to ask questions about the society in which we live, and to discuss perceived discrimination, racism and solidarity.
