The Beit Project explores Nantes ..!

On Monday, September 21, the first session of the Beit Project began in an emblematic district of the city of Nantes, located on the island: the Parc des Chantiers and the Quai de la Fosse. Nearly 120 students from 4 establishments in Nantes and Rezé take a new look at history, which is hidden behind the rich heritage present in this place, as well as the many traces that they learn to discover.

Imbued with a multifaceted past and present, young college students set up their nomadic huts in the heart of the district to reveal the history linked in particular to slavery, maritime trade, the Second World War and the anti-Semitism, or even more contemporary social struggles. The meeting of the territory and the inhabitants reserves beautiful surprises as for the multiple stories, interpretations, or questions, which will come to feed their experience … a little out of time.
So it was to arouse critical thinking, curiosity, the desire to reach out to others. The Beit Project is timely for a start of the 2020 school year unlike any other, where leaving home is like a rediscovery of our freedoms!
Come and meet us on the quays of Nantes!
