Sofia, Bulgaria : fourth stage of the Nomadic School of Remembrance

From Monday 26 September, the Nomadic School was established in Sofia, Bulgaria, in the Serdika district. In this multicultural neighbourhood, the synagogue commemorates the rescue of the Jewish community and the local resistance to the Nazis. The Bania Bachi Mosque and other important Catholic buildings are also located here, as well as an architectural complex of three buildings in the classical socialist style where the former Bulgarian Communist Party had its headquarters.

For almost a month, more than 150 youth and their educators will meet, work together and experience their relationship with otherness. Young people from different communities as Roma, Ukrainien and even visually impaired young people.

Thanks to a supportive and committed local team, the support of local partners such as the Municipality, the Shalom association or the Sofia History Museum, this project promises to be a success. Moreover, our general coordinator, Marie Heileman, was able to observe the interest of passers-by and tourists for the nomadic school.
